“Hamma Hamma Hot Shot”

A regional trout fly developed in the 1950’s and attributed to Dorsey Campbell from Shelton, WA. Washington State has many beautiful fly fishing rivers in both the Cascade and Olympic mountains. The Hamma Hamma River tumbles  down the eastern slope of the Olympic Range into Hood Canal and it’s upper reaches were once a prime fly fishing destination, but requiring an arduous  seven mile hike. Unfortunately, the Forest Service built a paved road from the mouth to the headwaters in 1964 and the good fishing was forever changed.
